The western ridge is more open with great views. The southern part (Lúčanská Fatra) is more remote, a big part of the ridge is covered by forest, and there is just a single hut on it. You need to either descend to a village or use a bivouac to cross it fully.

There are two slightly more technical peaks on the ridge: Velký Rozsutec at the start, accessible via a narrow gorge, and Biele skaly. Both can be skipped or bypassed (or enjoyed:).

The most beautiful ridge in Slovakia
Every hut is different.
Most of the huts are in the northern part of the ridge (Kriváňská Fatra), which is more exposed, windy, and has steep climbs. Yet each hut has its character and has something special.
