All huts around the circuit are older than 100 years, with Simonyhütte from 1877 now approaching 150 years of living on the massif.
In contrast, the modern Seethaler-Hütte at the top of the glacier has been renovated in 2018.
All huts offer beautiful views of the Dachstein itself or the Schladming Tauern to the south.
What's nearby:
Most of the trail is pretty dry terrain over sharp rocks with a couple of exposed sections secured by fixed ropes along the way. More experienced hikers can make it even more difficult by incorporating some via ferratas in the area.
Meadows (with friends) are only at lower altitudes at the start and north.

Hütten-Runde via huts over 100 years old
A relic from the time when the Dachstein massif was still a sea: fossilized megalodonts ("cow-foot shells") on a rock slab.
The massif formed during the Upper Triassic period in the Tethys Sea 200 million years ago.
