This is a real remoteness. On our own.

We did not meet anybody on the way. Just couple of people at some cabins.

The route is as hard as are the weather conditions. Both fresh powder snow and cold. We were lucky not to have any of it much, but temperatures can drop below -20 °C and that slows down a lot, because one can't afford to breath hard not to get pneumonia.

What's nearby:

We were lucky to see northern lights on one day. It lasted just a minute. Lately it returned briefly one more time but not with that strenght.

Most of the track is in a forest, but ocassionally it opens and shows you a beautiful view to admire.

Sokosti is the highest peak of the area. Some passes offers a similar views, but it's still worth climinb if you have time.

Lapland on skins

Plenty of well maintained cabins in the area. Some are really beautiful and some even have a sauna. It's refreshing to relax on any of them.
